Nestled in the heart of the Alps of Valle d’Aosta, the smallest region in Italy with a predominantly mountainous territory, the new Mont Blanc cable cars are not merely a means of transport, but are the most spectacular way of reaching the closest point to the summit of Mont Blanc and its majestic glaciers.
Opened in June 2015, the Skyway Monte Bianco connects and provides easy access to the three stations of Courmayeur (1,300 m), departure point which houses the ticket office, parking facilities and a small café; Pavillon du Mont Fréty (2,200 m) and Punta Helbronner (3,466 m); Pavillon du Mont Fréty (2.200 m),the intermediate station which hosts the winery Cave Mont Blanc, 2 restaurants, a conference room which provide seating for 150 seats and a special shopping area; Punta Helbronner (3.466 m) where you can admire the mighty Mont Blanc in all of its splendor form the 360-degree panoramic terrace, find a refreshment at the bistrot and discover the permanent exhibition of crystals. From the station it is possible to easily reach Rifugio Torino.
Punta Helbronner is also the point of departure for several hiking trails and off-piste routes such as the Toula, the Marbrées, the 24-Km-Vallée Blanche routes, which lead all the way to Chamonix.
