Mont Blanc year-round, an unforgettable experience
Just a few km from Courmayeur, at the border between Italy and France, are the Funivie Monte Bianco. In 20 minutes from La Palud you reach Punta Helbronner (3462 m) and its fantastic Terrace on the Glaciers where the view on Mont Blanc (4807 m) and the Giant’s tooth is breathtaking. On the horizon: the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso.
At Punta Helbronner the Permanent Mont Blanc Crystal Exhibition hosts 150 minerals and quartzes found by a local group Les Amis de Berrio in Mont Blanc Massif.
A paradise for off-piste skiing in the Aosta Valley
Thrilling descents in fresh snow along fabulous itinerary routes from Punta Helbronner can take you towards Courmayeur or Chamonix.
After the checking of safety equipment at Punta Helbronner start the magnificent and adrenaline fuelled off-piste descents of Mont Blanc.
The Vallée Blanche is a breath-taking route in the high mountains. As you ski down the imposing “Mer de Glace” glacier you find yourself face to face with breath-taking scenery. The descent is approximately 20 km long. A pause at the “Salle à manger”, is greatly appreciated by skiers and an ideal place for a packed lunch, for taking the sun and contemplating the magnificent panorama. If the snow conditions permit you can ski to the centre of Chamonix, otherwise you can reach the bottom by the Montenvers train.
The Toula Glacier is characterised by its’ 2000m descent: with a large area and multiple routes it is considered one of the most unique off-piste areas in all of Italy, winding through granite and seracs, this is appropriate for experts only. From Punta Helbronner it is possible to finish at Pavillon du Mont Fréty or, if snow permits, at the entrance to the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
The Marbrées off-piste is exciting descent recommended only to very experienced skiers. Starting from Punta Helbronner towards the Giant’s tooth to reach the Marbrées hill you then arrive in Val Ferret, to the Rochefort grassland.
The woods of Pavillon. From the first stop you have access to numerous descents in the Mont Fréty forest to reach the village of La Palud and there are more free ride variations within the white Eden of Mont Blanc.
