At the middle station of Pavillon/The Mountain, the beginning of the winter season sees the installation of the ARTVA camp created by Fondazione Montagna Sicura.
The camp, set up in the scope of the project Alcotra PrévRiskHauteMontagne, is situated roughly a hundred meters above the station and allows anyone to practice using the ARTVA system.
At the Skyway Monte Bianco’s middle station you can learn to use the ARTVA unitsIt is important to know how to use this safety equipment before undertaking one of Mont Blanc’s marvellous off-piste descents.
In these cases it’s fundamental to know how to verify whether the device is functioning correctly. The unit is composed of 5 sensors, that can be activated at various levels of difficulty and make it possible to simulate an avalanche search, up to and including the identification of the device by probe.
Use of the device is free of charge.
